Help calm this anxious teenager down!!

Hi please tell me my chances of getting into MIT EARLY ACTION. Thank you!

First off, my dad works at MIT. I have free tuition. If I get in…
GPA: 3.92 (AP Chem, APUSH, Highest level of every other subject)
Act: 34
Extra curriculars: I run club at school that is a big part of my town, I work at a lab at MIT for 2 years now, and I play tennis. I also work in the elementary schools to help girls get excited about STEM fields.
Awards: I’ve won two major awards for my club which focuses on bridging the gap between senior citizens and students in my town.
Teacher Recs: will be great
And I’m a girl…if that helps.

What do you guys think? Will MIT take me EA?

Shouldn’t you be asking your dad this? And ew who would wanna go to college with their dad lol? You could get free tuition elsewhere.

I only have free tuition at MIT.

You could apply and get free tuition at a plethora of schools and some schools guarantee it as well.

For example, you seem like an ideal candidate to get a USC Trustee scholarship or even get a Mork scholarship which is full tuition plus a $5,000 spending stipend.

I don’t qualify for financial aid. I only have free tuition because he works there. How do you think I would get free tuition elsewhere? Thanks! @CaliCash

MIT admissions are very very difficult, there is not point in not recognizing this. You have a good chance and that is all you can know. You can either take this information and freak out or remain clam and zen about it. Your choice. Now take your energy and imagine that you don’t get in. Where else would you like to see on your list of acceptances next year? Get a reasonable list together and most of the prep done. You will hear back from MIT mid december.

At USC, it would be merit based. A lot of schools offer merit based full tuition. USC is one of them. UMiami is one of them. Even a few elite colleges offer them. Off the top of my head, I know Johns Hopkins offers full tuition scholarships regardless of need.

@CaliCash , "ew who would wanna go to college with their dad lol? "
Hahahaha, this is funny! Well, it’s not like you have to stay alongside your dad all the time when you are on campus!! You can perfectly avoid each other if you want!

@AvacadosNmangos , CaliCash is saying that your stats are great and many colleges might give you full tuition merit money for that! It’s a big compliment!!

I think you have a shot at EA for MIT. Great stats + ECs that will stand out… being a girl helps, too, plus your dad working there.

But as CaliCash says, I also think you’re a strong candidate for merit aid at other schools, as well. What do you want to major in? And will you be taking the SATs as well? (some schools prefer them) We can help you put together a nice list of match schools that might offer merit, so you don’t put all your eggs in the MIT basket.

Personally, I think you will get in! Your stats are amazing and you seem to have great additional quirks.
