I had installed 7.0 and everything worked fine, then the other day when I was charging my phone it said a new update was available, so I installed it, then I realized even though I was responding to emails I received, none of them were being sent.

I googled “can’t send emails from iPhone” and the solution was to remove the email account then add it again. I did that; it’s still not working.

Anyone have this issue after installing the latest software?

Should I call Apple or Verizon?

I have 4 emails accounts on my phone – 2 gmails, one hotmail, one Exchange for work email. I can’t send from any of them.

Can you send emails if you do it from the Internet? Is the POP address component logged in currently?

I’d for sure call Verizon for some assistance. My mom and I have had to do so for things in the past, and they’ve always been really helpful. Also, if you’re able to, maybe take it in and see if a representative can fix it? I know that I get overwhelmed trying to follow directions over the phone, and resetting/fixing things are what some people are really, really good at.

thanks emeraldkity – what I’ve done so far is just delete the email account then add it again. All my PWs and usernames are correct, and I am able to send emails from my computer. I’ll check out the instructions on the link – thanks

harvestmoon – thanks for the tip on calling Verizon. I’d rather start there (vs making an appt at the Genius Bar) because maybe I can get it fixed without leaving work.

Thanks both of you – have a great Thanksgiving

I use my iPhone 4 on Straight Talk with AT&T towers. My data wasn’t working after recent update, I had to change the APN setting to get everything reworking. The new updates allow full MMS service without having to jailbreak the iPhones now to use with Straight Talk.

My phone emails didn’t work for about a day after a recent 7. Something update. I double checked and re-entered email address and passwords and 36-48 hours later got it working. It was very irksome.

This is why I have not yet upgraded my iPhone software! I have heard a lot of complaints about 7.0 I know I’ll have to do it yet, but I am resisting for now!
