Basically, I had a 32% in APUSH first quarter because my friend told me that homework counted as 7%, while it really counted for 65%. I raised it to a 59% and it is now a 65%, with one quarter left. I was able to go up 27% in one term and I know I can raise it more than that, but my parents want me to drop the class and quit Academic Decathlon, which is my entire life. I do not want to drop APUSH, it will be an F for sure if I do that on my transcript (so it makes no sense to drop it), and I do NOT want to quit Academic Decathlon. I would rather fail every single class, and I’m tempted to tell them that I will intentionally fail every class if they make me quit, but I don’t know how well that would work out. Basically, how can I make them listen to me in saying that I can still get an A (A is 87.5%) in the class and do Academic Decathlon?

I’d try convincing them to give you one more quarter to prove yourself. Just give them your word that if you can do Academic Decathlon this quarter, you’ll prove yourself in APUSH and pull an A. However, you’d probably have to give them your word that you’d be willing to risk giving up AD if you don’t pull an A. It’s a risk, but if you’re confident in yourself, don’t hesitate. :D

Good luck!

Oh, and just saying, I’d kill for 87.5% to be marked as an A… that’s a low B here >.<

Homework is 65%?!?? Can I join your class please?

^Haha, I know right? At my school, tests are 50-60% and finals are 10%, leaving homework at around 20% (there’s typically some other random category).

In APUSH our only homework is to take notes, we don’t even get credit for it! In my AP Calc AB class homework is 5%, it’s worthless bs compared to 65%…

Well, it isn’t 65% for only homework, but they add stuff like papers in that you have to do at home into other categories, and it really translates into 65% of your grade.

So you didn’t do the “stuff like papers” and are now complaining about your bad grade? Seems legit to me…

An 87.5% is an A at your school? Jeez.

@dfree

I’m not complaining. I deserved it the grade that I got, but I that isn’t the point of this thread. Anyway, I did the math for them and showed them how it was possible for me to get an A and they agreed to let me stay one more quarter.
