Hello! For Exeter, they ask before you schedule an interview your 3 favorite extracurriculars, I have:
Video Editing
Graphic design(ing)
Tennis
Edx courses (Currently one about philosophy)
So I really don’t know which one to take out, should I put tennis to show that I can do sports and be more well-rounded? I’m not amazing at it and only started this year.
I don’t know whether I should put Video Editing AND Graphic Design because they’re both Art ecs. Maybe I should take one out in exchange for Edx courses or tennis.
Also I don’t even know if Edx courses count as ecs (if anyone knows please tell me)
Finally, I’m worried because I don’t have any ecs that involve teamwork due to Covid and Exeter is very centered on contribution, collaboration, etc.
Thank you
I don’t think it’ll matter a lot but you could put video editing/grahic design as one. Treat it as one “digital arts” activity.
Thank you! I was thinking of that but didn’t know what to call the two
You are supposed to put your three FAVORITE, not the three you think will look best. If you put tennis and you only have a passing interest in tennis that is worse than having your three ex’s all be art related. If they ask you about tennis and you are just ehh about it during the interview…
You are thinking about it incorrectly.
Don’t think in terms of what they (Exeter) may want to hear. Think of it in terms of what you can speak passionately about.
A school would rather have a student that is fully engaged and all in versus a “box checker”.
Be as authentic and specific as you can. Good luck!!
