I already have an associates degree and am going to be transferring into a bachelors program this summer.

I can either go into a BS in Information Technology that costs roughly $32,000 or I can go into a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies that costs a considerable amount less, $18,500.

The BSIS degree has the same core courses as the IT degree, just less of other classes (microeconomics, accounting & project management). I also plan on down the road getting my Masters in a specific area of study.

I will get done with the IS degree about 1 1/2 yrs. earlier than the IT degree. I currently have a job in IT with about 3 years experience. Will having an Interdisciplinary Studies degree affect me in getting a higher up job in the IT field or going for my Masters?

Thanks.
