what is a weighted gpa vs unweighted gpa?
what is a PA? do i need that?

since i want to transfer to UF, i was reading and find out that college activities are more important than gpa as a transfer student.

I found out what classes i need to take to transfer to UF, Do i take It right away and who can i go to, to take action and take these classes that UF requires.

Does it matter if i get letter recommendations from teachers?

is the ACT test important, because i get very low scores but im passing my classes.

Please help me i want to ask more information but thats the only ones in my head at the moment. what else do i need to know?

Im confused and want to take the right steps to succeed.

Most of your questions where answered in your previous posting.

UF uses a 4.0 GPA scale (A=4, B=3…etc). They also give an extra 0.5 point to honor/advance classes and +1.0 points to AP/DE/IB/AICE classes. So a B in Alg 2 is equal to 3 points, while a B in Alg 2 honors is worth 3.5 points. These extra points make it possible to have a GPA over 4.0 (weighted). UF requires all transfer students to submit high school transcripts, but if you have your AA, it’s my understanding that they don’t really care about your HS GPA, only your college GPA (any recent transfer students can correct me if I’m wrong!).

No clue what a PA is…

College activities do not matter (much if at all) when attempting to transfer to UF from a CC (such as IRSC). It’s all about GPA and meeting the course perquisites.

Take advantage of the advising services at IRSC, they will help you plan out all of your courses. They can also answer all of these questions! :)

UF doesn’t ask for a letter of recommendations. I don’t think it would matter, unless you’re looking to have UF make some sort of exception to your application.

SAT/ACT With Writing test scores are only required for freshmen/sophomore transfers. If you get your AA, UF will not require or consider your scores.

You really should schedule some time with an advisor at school…I’m sure they can help!

Good Luck!

thank you. i will talk to an adviser.
