Help filling out financial aid forms.

So I am currently taking a year off of school because of medical reasons, but I’ve already been accepted to Carnegie Mellon and deferred admission for year. I was wondering how I would fill out my financial aid application now that I no longer live with my parents. My older sister now supports me fully. Although she is not my legal guardian, I am over 18, so am I allowed to use her information as my supporter?

No you are not. Your parents are still your providers for FA. They will be attached to your FA requests until you are 24, married or a member of the armed forces.

Agreed with Erin’s mom. You would need to include your parents. If there is a really truly extenuating circumstance to this situation, you can contact the college itself to see if there is a chance for a dependency override…but they are not given easily and there has to be a GOOD reason for this type of request to be made.
