I need to fill out my cornell financial aid application, can anyone tell me what " claimed on federal tax return of 2009" means?

I don’t understand what it is asking. Do we just put a yes or a no?

I think you should put yes. I think my parents did that and I am a very typical applicant. However, some advice other than that MIGHT be better. :P

Can you give more context?

Does it say “were any exemptions claimed in on the federal tax return of 2009”
or “were you claimed as a dependent on your parent’s federal tax return”?

Claimed in tax rhetoric means several things.

chendrix - I found the answer from another CC post, it happened to be the second question you mentioned. But thanks for trying to help out, I appreciate it!

Are you sure that’s the answer?

Just sayin.

Yup, as in was I dependent on my parents’ income for 2009.

k. Good luck to you with aid!
