I am looking for some engineering schools that I would fit in academically. I am looking to major in chemeng. I am already looking at RPI, WPI, and UMASS Lowell. I am looking for schools on the northeastern coast (Pennsylvania is the furthest south). Thank you for your help!

College Navigator shows a total of 30 results for chemE on northeast and mid-Atlantic states, using a max ACT score of 30. Not too many to work through to come up with a good list.

If you change that search to eliminate the ACT score, you get 43 schools.

Or you could use the CC Supermatch tool. It tries to rank the results based on how they fit you… If you supply more criteria it helps narrow it down further…

Your ACT is good but not as good as your GPA, so that would hurt you at the most selective schools like MIT, and the Ivies.

What else are you looking for? We evaluated a whole bunch of engineering schools a few years ago in the same states…

Info on class sizes can be found in the Common Data Sets for each school on your list.
In all engineering programs, some of the intro classes will be fairly large, but will have recitation sections that are small. You can always make yourself known to professors by going to their office hours and talking to them, even at big schools.

I think you have a reasonable shot at NEU, your ACT is a little low but your GPA is high and your other test scores are very good.
Drexel’s program is similar in that co-op is required.
UMass Lowell and Amherst are both great for Chem E. Of course, RPI and WPI are great choices - I have a son at WPI and we visited/evaluated all of the schools you have mentioned except Northeastern.

If you want to look at a LAC, consider Union (NY) which is test-optional which might be good considering your strong GPA. Also Trinity, Lehigh, Lafayette, Bucknell are worth looking into but your ACT may be a bit low.

I forgot that WPI is test optional too, but you do have to submit additional materials to bolster your application. If your ACT were any lower you would need to consider it, but perhaps not with yours especially since the math subsection was high. Why didn’t you retake the ACT to make it easier to get into more schools? Your profile looks like you could have done better without a ton of extra effort.
