I was reading the Fine Arts Submission form and it says that your mentor has to write a letter of recommendation. My mentor is a jazz pianist and has no experience with writing recommendation letters so I’m trying to find some sort of form or guide line to give to him so he has some sort of idea what to write. Is there a form for the Fine Arts Teacher Recommendation? Do I use the Teacher Reference Form or the Optional Reference Form? If there is no form, what should I tell my teacher to write about? What kind of student I am? His impression on my skills? What? Thanks for the help!

I think there is no form for this letter, and the teacher should probably write about his experience with you as a student, and his oppinion of you as a musician, or something of that sort.

don’t worry. my teacher wrote something really short very quickly and it worked out.

would it be okay if i gave him the optional recommendation form? I feel kind of bad just telling him to write an essay on what he thinks about me. I kind of promised him a form of some sort and I think that would make him (and me as well) if i gave him a form of some sort to follow. Does anybody have their fine arts teachers recommendation letter so I could show him and give him an idea what to write? Thanks.

I am sure it would be fine to give him that form

I checked with the admissions offce that it is ok to use the optional rec. form.

In case you plan to get another optional letter, you can ask your art teacher to write in any letter format. So, as a maximum, you can include four letters, two teachers’ recom, one optional letter and one from your art teacher.
