I’m current a junior and having a problem about GPA and AP exams. I have 3 As, 3Bs, and 1C in the last quarter, but unfortunately my grades are falling down and I have no idea what to do with AP exams. I have GPA 3.7/5.0 overall with some high rigors such as ap chem, apush, ap calc bc, de psychology. My considerations are either art colleges like ringling, scad,or seneca or ASU. Do you think it does gonna affect my application if I do not take the AP chem exam???
You don’t have to report it, so I’d say take it.
or can the ap scores boost my application?
It won’t do anything for either art school or ASU (even Barrett) so don’t take it.
Right now you’re overwhelmed and stressed out because you’respread too thin. Take the exam for Calc and for APUSH, or only one of them, but focus on it/them to get the highest possible score.
Would you be interested in “artsy” colleges that’d be more reachable than the top art schools but more personable for an arty kid than ASU?
Yes, do you have any suggestion?
Bard, Wesleyan, Vassar, Williams, Tufts, Grinnell, Skidmore, Muhlenberg, RIT, Emerson, VCU, SUNY New Paltz, Ithaca, Beloit.
Run the NPC on each of them since each will calculate costs differently. Once you know which ones are affordable, look into what they have to offer. They cover a wide range of selectivity.
The schools you mentioned - you’ll be fine for.
For ASU, you’re an auto admit.
The others will want your money (assuming your portfolio works for them).
You’ll be fine.
Good luck.
