help: getting out of ithaca

<p>Hi. I need to book airplane ticket to go home for spring break. but…last winter, I almost felt like i was gonna die from airplane crash. i mean, these small airplanes scared **** out of me. the ride was bumpy, seats were shaking, wings were flapping…man. so, is there a way to get to JFK airport in nyc or other major airports from ithaca other than plane? Also, am i overreacting here? Has there been airplane crashes from Itahca airport yet? Anybody killed?</p>

<p>you were on a tough flight - the exception, not the standard. </p>

<p>give flying another try, odds are it’ll be a nice and smooth flight. If the weather is dangerous, they won’t let the plane take off. The odds of actually crashing are slim and none.</p>

<p>either go to Syracuse and fly Jet Blue or take the shortline bus. The bus stops at North Campus, West Campus, and Collegetown. The schedule can be found here.</p>

<p>flying statistically is far safer than any other forms of transportation. and besides … turbulence is quite normal on any flight.</p>

<p>Another reason I was scared of the flight is bc last time my flight just went down or “sank” vertically for like 5 to 6 sec. It felt like a giant drop at six flags or something, only much scarier. I honestly thought that I was going to die and decided not to take these small airplanes out of Ithaca airport ever again. After this plane, when I got on the big plane, it was all good and smooth, you know…</p>

<p>also, it’s not just me who thinks this way. a girl who was sitting next to me was crying and praying and all. It was no joke.</p>

<p>patlees, I definitely agree with you. I have not had great experiences with small planes. I would just take the bus. Where do you have to go?</p>
