I currently have a D in my trigonometry class and i dont know if i can get it up. I have accepted the intent to enroll for San Jose State University and I also wanted to ask if i could possibly get rescinded and what are the chances of it happening?
SJSU requires a C- or better. If you get a D, you could be rescinded. Now with that said, I’d be spending as much time as possible with your instructor or Kahn Academy, to understand it well enough that you don’t get a D and check out of College Confidential. Good luck.
Go to the teacher for extra help every day he/she is available. Get a tutor if you can. Do extra problems. Use online services like Khan Academy. Do whatever it takes to get the grade to a C-
Don’t worry about getting rescinded, worry about getting that trig grade up. It’s far more productive.
I would recommend extra help with your teacher every single day. Let him/her know that this is a priority, and that you’re willing to put in the time and work necessary to pull your grade up. (Though I would mention: it’s Memorial Day weekend. This problem didn’t happen overnight, and it may be hard to pull up.)
Your best bet is your final exam. So retake every single test you’ve had all year, and then go to your teacher with the ones you still have trouble with.
Additionally, you may want to take a look at the NY State Regents exams in Algebra II & Trig. Teachers all over NY have prep sites devoted to the exam-- and, needless to say, the material doesn’t change from one state to another.

Negotiate with the teacher and ask if there’s anything you can do to raise the grade
Try to maintain As in other classes to mitigate this and not make it seem like senioritis. On a sidenote, I have found Kendrick Krause to be helpful for that specific class. Search him on YouTube, the links bjkmom provided are helpful too, as I’m taking that regent for cc Algebra 2. I can help you with questions about content but I don’t think it’s allowed here.
First, deep breath…I know how you must feel…panic! Once calm, sit down and analyze every point you have so far in that class and what is are points left. If its just the final, then you can figure out what the minimum score is you must obtain to pull yourself into the C- category. Go directly to the teacher’s class if you have a tutorial period or to his/her office hours and go over all problems you missed from this semester’s exams, first by yourself and then with youtube and then with the teacher.
If there is no chance you can pull that off with a C-, point wise and teacher says that to you… then you gotta face the music. Start talking to the folks at San Jose State.
Let us know how things pan out. I hope ok!
Thanks to everyone who replied! My teacher let me retake a test from before then had another test the next week. I got lucky and did well enough to raise my grade to a C-. I didn’t do so hot on the final but the notebook we are allowed to use on tests counted for a test grade and raised it to a C. I got really lucky!
take help from youtube…its much better option to learn
