Help!! I missed my midterm!!

@iamjack

Freedom of speech means that the government can’t suppress what you say. Individuals have the right (and I would say, the obligation) to call you out on your demeaning comments.

Google Elizabeth Holmes. Or Marissa Mayer. That should put to rest “the dumb blonde” trope for you.

@MidwestDad3 Explain to me this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj3iNxZ8Dww

Happy to @iamjack Caitlin Upton, a teenager who was Miss USA Teen South Carolina in 2007, was asked a straightforward question, became nervous immediately, and gave a rambling answer. It’s the kind of thing many of us who are older than you have experienced at least once in our lives. (For me, it was a straightforward question by my Torts professor on the third day of law school!)

In the face of 70 million+ Youtube views and worldwide ridicule, Ms. Upton acknowledged her confused response, became a successful model who worked in campaigns for Nautica and Wrangler, placed third in Season 16 of The Great Race, and is now a businesswoman who is in Real Estate in Brentwood, California. She has exhibited more grace than you will ever imagine, and she is a terrific role model.

Now you explain to me Elizabeth Holmes and Marissa Mayer. Deal?

@MidwestDad3 Sure. Both of them got affirmative action, got into Stanford, and had their lives set.

Thanks for the replies guys!! I set up an equation and wasn’t confident I worked it out correctly and needed some help from other people to verify i could pass. I did talk to my professor and she let me take the exam but only because I worked hard in her class. I missed the exam because my professor changed the scheduled day to take it, and I will learn to pay more attention to changes made in my classes. Thanks again!

Glad everything worked out, OP!!

So happy for you @BlondeNinjaX0X0. What a nice, and fair, professor. One of my kids missed an online exam by minutes! The online midterm and online final were on the same day, which is silly. He accidentally logged in to the final and then had to finish it or get a zero. By the time he finished, and tried to do the midterm, it had just closed. He emailed the prof immediately and asked if he could re-open it for him. No luck. The Prof gave him a 0, so his 100% average ended up being an 89% and he got a B. Some profs are just kind of jerky.

It never hurts to ask

It never hurts to ask if you have put effort into the class up until then.
