help, i need an opinion

Just FYI, I am a junior planning to apply ED next year.

I have a question-- Duke stresses that applicants should be taking 5 academic courses per school year. Prior to my sophomore year, I took an academic course in summer school, and took 4 academic courses during the year (3 honors). How much will this affect my chances of getting in?

Thus far, I have a 4.48 GPA (3.96 UW), 660 CR 730 M 770 R, retaking in March, hoping to get 2200-2270 super score. Good, unique EC’s.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I doubt it will have an impact because you still took five courses that year.

As far as chances though you definitely look competitive.

It won’t matter much… freshman year.

I don’t think it would affect your chances that much, as long as the classes you took your freshmen year are core classes, rather than cooking, or sewing, or something like that.

I have taken two fine arts (our school requires one for graduation)…is that what you mean by non-core courses? The summer school course counts toward my sophomore year on my transcript.

I will have fulfilled Duke’s recommended academic rigor by the time I finish high school
