<p>I submitted my Duke app by the priority deadline so I ended up sort of rushing through my why duke essay. In it, I feel like I mostly talked about the beautiful campus and how it has an enriching curriculum in my areas of interest. Should I have talked more about why I’m interested in majoring in my area of interest at Duke? Does this essay count for a lot? I’m scared cause nowhere in my app do I talk about why I’m interested in my major.</p>
<p>Please breathe-- it’s all going to be okay. I don’t know if mentioning your particular major is important to ‘why Duke’, but it certainly could have helped-- as could your familiarity or interest in campus and the available curriculum in the things you are intellectually fascinated by. Regardless, it’s too ‘late’ to do anything now, so be excited you’re done with the application!</p>
