If anybody has any advice I would really appreciate it

Oh and I plan to get at least 200 hours this summer, and am going to take a Dual Enrollment Course. For my senior year I will also be taking AP Stats and AP Art History

Yes, they’re in reach. They’re reach schools for anyone, though.

You have a chance at many schools. What is/are your:
-Geographic preferences
-Budget
-Size preferences

What was your SI on the PSAT? Do you think you’ll be NHRP? Are you bi-lingual? Do you do community service in the Hispanic community? Are you first generation college?

Also do you have access to Naviance for your high school?

@Dolemite, you might spell out those abbreviations, lots of posters won’t be familiar. OP, the higher your test scores the better for UChicago.

NHRP is the National Hispanic Recognition Program based on your Scholarship Index reported on your PSAT score report. Your SI will be 192-210 depending on your breakdown. I believe 204 is the cutoff for FL (South Region). NHRP will get you an extra 4K merit aid at U of Chi on top of any need based aid.

Geographic preferences: northeast to mid-atlantic. Budget: I’m looking for almost full if not full financial aid. Size Preferences: not too picky but I’d prefer a medium-sized school

My SI is 204, I am bilingual, I don’t really do service in the hispanic community, I’m from South Florida so everywhere is a hispanic community lol. I am not first generation college, and I don’t know what naviance is :frowning:

SI?

Scholarship index on the PSAT

“Budget: I’m looking for almost full if not full financial aid.”

Run the Net Price Calculators (NPCs) for UChicago and Georgetown to see if you will receive the aid you need. The NPCs are really only accurate if you have simple family finances: no businesses, no non custodial parent or remarried parents, etc.

Your stats look good. I suggest you identify your safety schools first (must be affordable).

Will do! Thanks

The fact that your Hispanic and female will definitely advantageously help you in admissions, although no one can be sure by how much.

Your scores are at least competitive with the pools of both schools.
It’s great you have leadership positions in your EC’s. I might say that you’re lacking in quantity, but I don’t know if the Society EC’s you’re a part of are membership only or if you have to actively participate in something.
Hopefully you get some more awards that might help add a nice spin to your application.

I agree with @newjerseygirl98: These are reach schools for many applicants, and we definitely won’t be able to predict with certainty if you’ll get in.
