[HELP] L&S Advising - bhive

Hello, I have some questions on CalCentral Dashboard’s Task lists. To give you some basic information about myself, I am attending De Anza College as an international student now, and I’m about to transfer to UCB. I followed and completed IGETC. I have only one C from Math43(Pre-Calculus), and rest of them are all A and A+'s. Not only from De Anza College, but have I took some classes from Foothill College too (as a concurrent student.)

  1. there is one task named "Prepare for L&S Advising" which is due by May 26th. I am trying to filling out the questionaries and I got stuck on some sections. When I click the task "Prepare for L&S Advising", I see #1. Complete the "L&S Academic Program Plan at https://bhive.berkeley.edu. After I enter the link, I see 4 big-categories 'Degree Requirements', 'Major Exploration: Transfer Students', 'Schedule Planning: Transfer Students', and 'CalSO'... In the 'Degree Requirements' section, there are 7 small-categories, and the last part "Letters&Science Requirements: 7 Course Breadth" In this Self Assessment reporting section, they want me to fill out 'Institution', 'Course Titles & Numbers', and 'Grade' for Art&Literature/ Biological Science/ Historical Studies/ International Studies/ Philosophy & Values/ Physical Science/ and Social & Behavioral Sciences. How should I fill out those blanks? Should I type "De Anza College" for 'Institution' blank, "IGETC" for Course Title & Number? I have no idea what to type for the Grade sections.
  2. For the next Big-categories, I see Major Exploration: Transfer Students. They want me to fill out 'Intended Major' , and 'Alternate Major' ... What are those? What should I fill out?
  3. To get back to my CalCentral Dashboard Task lists, "Non-Immigrant Information Form", I finished submitting this form and they said they are going to send my I-20 to my hometown in 10-15 days. When will this 'task' disappear? Because when you complete the task, then that 'task' category goes to the 'Completed' section. Since the "Non-Immigrant Information Form" remains on my "Scheduled" section, did I do something wrong? or should I just wait for UCB to process this schedule?
  4. On my CalCentral Dashboard, I have "Apply for Housing" section, If I would like to just find a place to live in by myself without any assist from UCB, can I just ignore this notification?

I am sorry that I have many questions and have too much texts with bad explanation. I will provide you some specific screenshots if you email me.

  1. Having IGETC will fulfill the L&S 7-course breadth requirement. Otherwise, you need to look up course articulation in ASSIST and match up the equivalent courses to your De Anza and Foothill courses with those in the L&S course list for each of the breadth categories.
  2. What major do you want to declare, and what would you declare if you do not get into your first choice major (if it is one that requires a high GPA to declare like CS, statistics, psychology, ORMS, economics, and a few others)? If you want to major in anthropology (as mentioned in your other posts), it is not a restricted major, so you should be able to declare it when you have the necessary prerequisites completed (check ASSIST to match up your De Anza and Foothill courses to the UCB courses): http://anthropology.berkeley.edu/undergraduate/how-declare-majorminor

@ucbalumnus thank you, so for the question no.1, can I just leave the ‘institution’ and ‘grade’ blanks empty? (I read that if I have followed and completed IGETC, then type ‘IGETC’ in the Course Title & Number blank. But there were no any info about the ‘Institution’ and ‘Grade’ blanks.)
