Hello,

I took the SAT Subject Tests on October and did not do as well as I thought. I got:

520 Literature
800 Spanish
460 US History

For some reason they ALL accidentally got sent to my top universities (NYU, BU) and I am afraid these really low scores may affect my admission. I have a great GPA and resume, i just did badly in these test because I did not study enough.

What should I do? Call the university and explain? Do they really care about these scores? Will it affect me?

PLEASE HELP IM FREAKING OUT!

Did you sign up to take them again in December? Retake them and you’ll really improve your standing. :)

If you retake the tests and the colleges you’ve chosen superscore the SATs, then they will disregard your Oct scores.

Those are pretty poor scores, but if you retake, you could still get in. Colleges really count sat scores when choosing applicants. I’d say you still have a shot but you MUST retake these tests. Ivies like Columbia look for >750 on almost all subject tests. Don’t want to discourage you, but you still have a shot. Relax and take the tests in January. You could have used scorechoice and ignored these scores entirely, but now that you’ve sent them, the colleges will see. I’m sorry, you can still fix this.
