Hi, I’ve been accepted to Rutger NB RBS, IU Kelley, UF Business, and UIUC Gies, and not sure which to choose. My major for all of these schools is Finance and then paired with either data science or statistics.
I’m in state for rutgers and have friends who’ve said they help me get into clubs, but not sure how great the business program is at Rutgers for placing well into high finance. IU is probably the best business school, but I’ve heard that if you want any chance of getting into high finance you have to get into IBW which is extremely selective. For UF it’s the best ranked school overall but not sure how great it is for finance. Then we have UIUC which is decent for finance, it also has a really good STEM program, and I’ve heard it places really well into Chicago.
My thought are kind of all over the place. I need to decide by May 1, so any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Are all of these options equally affordable for your family?
What exactly in “finance” do you want to do? Lots of different things…
Perhaps @Catcherinthetoast can weigh in.
family can cover all. for high finance i was thinking about trying to place into consulting, banking, CRE Equity, sales and trading. large range of industries, but just wanted to know which would be the best school for placing into roles like these.
Were you admitted to the honors program at any of these schools?
just iu. the hutton honors college i think
If all are equally affordable for your family, I’d go UIUC since GIES+STEM would be hard to beat.
Otherwise, Indiana Kelley+Hutton would be very good too, a large business school and a smaller Honors college that offers some special business intro classes in addition to small gen ed seminars.
Note that you’ll need your passport to vote in Indiana (state just voted to ban University ID as proof of identity, which used to be used by IU students).
