We are from India and my son has offers from MSU, ASU , University of Minnesota Twin Cities, Rutgers as well as from University of Waterloo Canada for BS in Data Science.
Pls suggest which one should we finalize for acceptance?
The Cost is for these universities are as below, starting from high to low:
- UMN
- Rutgers
- MSU
- ASU
- Ohio State
- Waterloo (this is a co-op program, paid internship also has chances for getting PR)
Personal preference -
Weather, size, urbanness, air travel convenience.

Are all these schools comfortably affordable?
Congrats on the offers! Is the permanent residency in Canada something he’s interested in? That would be a big factor for me, if I were in his position and deciding. Without getting into politics, I think he would have very different experiences with Canada and the US (at least, with the governments) over the next four years.

I know nothing about Waterloo but the others are all large public schools but have completely different weather and locations or college settings. They all are in somewhat urban/suburban environments near larger cities. All solid schools.
