Help me choose which SAT/ACT scores to send

I am applying to highly competitive bioengineering/chem. engineering programs at UIUC (choice #1), Purdue, University of Minnesota. I am also applying to BS/MD programs such as Northwestern HPME, Case Western PPSP, and UIC GPPA. Although most of the schools I am applying to do not REQUIRE the essay, some do recommend it, and I am not sure about the trade-off between submitting a much worse SAT essay compared to a worse ACT science.

ACT: 35
-English: 36
-Math: 35
-Reading: 35
-Science: 33

-Writing: 11/10/11/11

SAT: 1570
-Math: 790
-English: 780
-Writing: 6/5/7

Given that I am applying to highly competitive, science-focused programs, I am unsure on whether to send my ACT with a much better essay but worse science or my SAT with a worse essay and a great overall score.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If it is relevant, I have three recommenders: French, math, and physics. I suspect Math/French will be my best letters of rec.

Thank you very much!

First of all, both are excellent scores and I think either would be good to send.
According to the ACT/SAT concordance table, 1570 equates to 36. I would send in SAT. Just my two cents. https://www.act.org/content/dam/act/unsecured/documents/ACT-SAT-Concordance-Tables.pdf
Congratulations

why not send both? If you were my kid, that is what I would recommend.

(I’m not convinced colleges much care about the essay even though they require it.)

I second the idea of sending both. They test different things. Sending both allows the school to choose which they want to use in their stats for reporting-which is what these tests are all about for the schools anyway-and both sets of yours are great.
