ok so i already have 8 colleges on my list, and i’m only allowing myself to apply to a max of 10.
but i’m still thinking about 4 more:
emory
usc
william and mary (out of state)
and umich (out of state)
and i want to get at least 2 of them completely and permanently out of my mind, but i’m having trouble with that.
i’m interested in international relations (most likely majoring in this), poli sci, journalism, and communications.
i like urban/suburban environments, i know w&m is an exception but i know it has a great IR program.
i want a fairly diverse school, but not that much segregation among different races
surrounding area: either college town or is easily accessible to the town/city outside of school grounds (i don’t intend to get a car during college… which is why i’m doubtful about usc but again, i know it has a great IR department)

btw the first three are all reasonable reach for me
help?

I would keep University of Michigan- Ann Arbor on the list.
Why?
Location is great- Located in the great state of Michigan, and a college town known as Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Ranked well according to USNEWS… I think it’s like 26.
Large campus and student body
I would assume look well on job applications/ grad school
College experience
Although a negative, from what I hear is that the students are unfriendly. Which could only make a college experience worst, but you should keep it on your list.

Michigan is soooo expensive for out of state students. For the same money, you could go to private school with more intimate interaction with faculty, smaller classes, plusher dorms, etc. And it would be tough to find a school with a worse football team.
