I have a list of schools which i want to apply

Choate Rosemary Hall
Hotchkiss
Middlesex
Suffield
Phillips Academy Exeter
Deerfield Academy

I also need a big aid

Which schools are sutiable with my stats?Which schools should i add more to my list?

from looking at previous posts, OP will be a junior next year and is an international student. He/she also stated that the test scores are from sample tests and they have not actually taken the test.

nns91 – I would suggest you take a look at some of these threads, which will give you lots of info about international student aid for college (which you were posting about before) and a forum where you can ask questions specifically for international students.

I will be blunt with you – I don’t see that you have much of a chance at any school on your list and I don’t know any others where you would have a good chance. Your stats are not impressive, you have few activites (those before grade 9 are usually ignored when you are applying for 12th grade), the only awards you are have internal school awards and you need FA. I don’t mean to crush your dreams – but you need to be realistic.

keep in mind that activities that you did prior to grade 9 are not considered when applying and should be left off applications and resumes – which brings your activity list to just one activity: football team of class.

I’d recommend applying to two or three of the schools you mentioned (Choate!) but also having substantial safeties and matches. While your GPA is good, your SAT score is far from their averages, which are about in the 2000 range, like bearcats said.

Asking for aid is also a factor, so try to pick schools that can offer you what you need and that are reachable for you.

so you are looking at repeating 11th grade?

have you considered applying to the United World Colleges? It is a two year IB program and there is generally a good scholarship that accompanies it. You have to apply through your countries committee. http://www.uwc.org/

I think you have more than stats to worry about – your lack of activities and awards and your need for FA is something else that will negatively impact your applications and you can’t do much about that.

Read back through this prep school forum to see how other international students have fared and to look at the stats, ECs and awards of students applying to top boarding schools.

Set your sights on schools that are easier to get into. You have to apply this fall, there’s no time to develop meaningful new ECs. Look at areas other than the NE and schools that get fewer international apps. It will really help in you’re from a country they don’t see many apps from, somewhere other than Asia and W Europe. Look at the posts of people such as hsmomsteph who has listed schools that are less known but have good aid.

If you are from somewhere unusual you just might get a break at a school.

I think you should look at some schools that are easier to get into as well, because many people who apply to school’s that you mentioned have great stats. Try to join some clubs, do some community service over the summer, and join some sports teams.
Good luck!

Actually, thanks for all recommends.
Community services are very rare but i am trying to join a charity group
We don’t have sport team at school so it’s hard.I only have chance to join some club outside of school but many of them are not availble for people at my age.
