i shouldn’t waste my time right? and my money? plus, i’m nervous about the possible interview… “why do you want to go to harvard” um… well, i’d LIKE to go there cuz it’s harvard… i honestly hate this question.

helppp (SOON) haha… deadline approaching… in a couple of days

… oh and i’m asian…

You have nothing to lose by applying and having the experience of being interviewed.

If you get rejected, you’ll join the ranks of most applicants, and you will have proven to your dad that your prediction was correct.

The only way to convince your dad that you’re right is to apply and be rejected. Still, I suggest that you give your best shot because as is the case with the majority of applicants, you have a chance of admission.

+1
How much time can you waste by applying? I mean there’s not even a required supplemental essay it would take like 20 mins tops (if you have to check and double check everything) to finish the supplement and submit it and the common app. You’ve got a chance, why not take it?

If you don’t want to go there, then don’t apply. Your scores are low, and you are an ORM, but you have music, so it could work. Give it a try if you can imagine yourself at Harvard.

Here’s a little bit of advice from an idealistic applicant: Apply. Do not sell yourself short. Millions–that’s right, I said millions–of high schoolers do not have the stats you have. You have a chance :-). Keep your head up.

You are way more qualified than I was when I applied to Harvard. Who the hell cares, give it a spin. You never know…

I envy you…But it’s your choice. If you don’t want to go to Harvard, just have a rational discussion. Remember, it’s your life, not his.

Your SATs are low, but your ECs might make up for it. Sounds like your GPA and transcript is solid, though. If you want it, go for it.

If you don’t want to go to harvard just write a crappy essay or annoy the hell out of the admissions office (make sure your dad doesn’t know). If he forces you to apply, that is.

Yeah your SAT/SAT II’s will hurt your chances, but no harm in applying
