Hi!
I need your help deciding where to go! I have several options to choose from, luckily, and aim to be a radiation oncologist in the future. Please help me decide! I live in NJ and do plan on going to med school in the future. Money is really not a problem for my family, fortunately. If I didn’t list scholarship, it means that I do not know how much I am receiving from that school.
I was admitted to:
-Drexel University (Drexel/Drexel) 7 year Accelerated Bachelor’s/MD Program (1/2 tuition scholarship for undergrad)
-University of Florida (2/3 tuition scholarship) + Honors
-NJIT Full Ride + Honors
-Temple Full Tuition Scholarship + Honors
-Stevens Institute of Technology
-University of Connecticut + Honors
-University of the Sciences + Honors
-Union College + Honors
-University of South Florida + Honors
-Hofstra University + Honors
-Virginia Commonwealth University + Honors
-University of Rochester + Honors
-(waitlisted at: Rice University, Lehigh University, Washington University in St. Louis)
If you’re 100% sure you want to study medicine - go to Drexel!
which ones have you visited?
which ones did YOU like? letting people on the internet suggest away is probably a bad idea
Get yourself there for accepted students days - that will make a big difference.
If money is no concern, URochester Honors. Really strong for science. Some extraordinary research’s going on there.
If money matters to a certain extent, UF Honors would be your best choice - top public university and you got honors + a scholarship.
The difference between these two is medium size vs. very large, private vs. public, cold winters and 4 clear seasons vs. tropical heat and humidity year round, scholarly vs. rah-rah…
If I were you, I would attend the Drexel Accelerated Program, since it’s already a good school+ you know you want to go into medicine.
