Hello my name is Sam and I am a high school junior at a competitive private high school…I loved Dickinson College and Union College when I visited, but I can’t decide between the two. I am very interested in studying spanish probably with business, if that helps…Btw my counselor that these are my matches…

We looked at both schools this spring with my D and liked them. As of now her preference is Union based on a combination of a gut feeling, loving the science facilities, and thinking the trimester system might be good for her. I would suggest that you spend some time looking at the school websites. If you want business, you may need to expand your search - Dickinson has a management program which may or may not be sufficient for your needs and while Union has economics, there is no traditional business program.

Although I don’t know if you’ve already researched it, Skidmore seems like a good option. It is a little bit more artsy than Union, I don’t know about Dickinson as I’ve never visited, but Skidmore is one of the only liberal arts colleges that offers a business major. It is very similar academically to Union, they are even tied for #41 in the USNWR rankings for liberal arts colleges.

Are you planning on playing ball, too?

For business, have you considered RPI? I’m looking at Union and Dickinson as well, but or Econ and baseball ;-)
