A lot of the Gies major names are “X + Y” with data science thrown in there, but that doesn’t make it a data science major. So if OPT is a priority, the student needs to talk to Gies about which specific programs (if any) are STEM designated. Someone at Gies will surely know, because they do have some programs (at the masters level) that are advertised as STEM designated.
