<p>So, I asked a new acquaintance of mine to come to the Oscar party my friends and I are hosting, and in his reply, he said “Squeak!” and he expressed strong interest in going. What does “squeak” mean? I’ve never heard it used before.</p>
<p>I’ve never heard someone say/type that, but when I read it I picture a girlish squeal, in which case you probably don’t have to worry about him trying to become more than friends.</p>
<p>Your message could be interpreted in two ways: “I don’t have to worry” as in I could trust that the friendship would not go any further than a friendship. OR “I don’t have to worry” as in he seems he could be interested in more than a friendship, and that I should have little trouble going this latter route should I feel the same way.</p>

<p>Oh, I’m a guy, and I’m also gay, so that’s good news for me then? Terrific! My friends and I have actually been debating his sexual orientation. Two of them think there’s a possibility that he isn’t gay, just slightly feminine (he’s very cultured), maybe bisexual. I truly believe he is, and so do two of my other friends. I’ve been criticized for assuming things, but I beg to differ. The vibes are too strong to ignore.</p>

<p>I don’t think he meant it like that actually b/c he’s fairly conservative. Maybe it’s supposed to be literal, as in “squeak, that’s exciting!”?</p>

<p>He probably said “squee”. I’ve heard some girls say it before, think it might come from anime/manga or something. It’s just a term that denotes happiness/excitement.</p>
<p>I think squeak just implies excitement and the feeling of being overjoyed. He probably said it to emphasize the happiness he felt for being invited.</p>
