Help me find a Cali school

I know there are tons of these out there but i’m in need of some help! I’m not totally sure about navigating the college process. I’m from the midwest and want to major in history or polisci and go on to med school. I really like the big school feel and fell in love with UCLA when I toured. Cost isn’t an issue until I actually make it into a school. Please leave recs for schools I should apply to. Also include location/vibe info!!

So $65K/year to attend UCLA as an Undergrad and possible Medical student is not an issue with little to no financial aid??

California is one of the most competitive states for Pre-Med inclined students, so why would you want to come here when there are so many great schools that you could go to else where in the US? Your stats could get you very good merit aid at many of top schools outside of California…

Here is the UC GPA calculator and UCLA will use the Capped weighted and Fully weighted UC GPA: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

As an OOS applicant, only AP/IB or DE courses taken 10-11th grades are considered for the extra honors points in the calculation.

If you have the money, then UCLA/UCB/UCSB would my top picks for a large school in California.

While i wouldn’t discourage you from applying the UC of your choice, I’d suggest you seriously consider some of our private schools as well. For someone with your stats, their tuition will likely parallel UC in-state, perhaps even less. Loyola Marymount, Univ of San Diego, and Santa Clara will, likely, make it worth your while to attend. And - you are in a private school.

Good luck.
