Help me find a college?

I am a first year community college student (graduated HS spring 2013), and I plan to transfer next year. I had my heart really set on Kenyon. They had everything I wanted. Then I discovered that they do not offer any scholarships whatsoever to transfer students. That’s fine, but my family is not in a financial position where I can afford to go to a school that does not offer scholarships to transfer students. I’ll probably still apply - not that I will get in, but you never know.

Anyway, that got me thinking about what I wanted in my Dream College. I was wondering if you could tell me about some colleges and universities that might match what I am looking for:

Location: Eastern, New England, North Eastern United States

Type: Private, liberal arts

Majors: Nationally ranked English/writing major; Major in Spanish and majors and minors in other languages

Enormous variety of clubs to join

Great study abroad opportunities

Scholarships available for transfer students

Active Harry Potter fanbase among students (includes Harry Potter Alliance, Quidditch Team, Harry Potter related clubs/events, etc)

I want to clarify why I am at a community college. I am a very intelligent person. However, my personal life collided with my grades in high school, and I graduated with a 2.88 GPA. This was mostly due to turning this in late, and doing poorly in a math course and a science course. I got a 25 on the ACT, 30s on English and Reading, but my score was brought down by the 18 on the Math and the 20 on the Science. I plan on retaking the ACT, and taking the SAT this fall/winter. I will be studying for them this time. I received honors in Academic Decathlon and Speech Team in high school, and I will be helping to assistant coach both of them at my old high school this year. I am a volunteer usher at the local community theatre and will be a volunteer tour guide at a local historical sight soon.

Your best chance at transferring to a college/university that will offer you the financial aid you need, is by getting a 4.0. Go sit down with the Transfer Advisor at your CC, and find out which places have admitted students similar to you in the past few years. That person will have useful ideas for you.

Good Luck!

Also ask your GC if any four year schools will even take a new ACT/SAT. I think most/all will not.
