I have one school I am totally in love with, but the other options on my list I have only slight interest in. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a variety of schools that could match my stats since I’m having trouble finding ones that I am super interested in. I’m open to LACs, privates, publics, really anything. Schools on either coast would be preferred.

You have a 1410 M+CR ~ There are schools that would give you a free tuition scholarship.
A safety has to be affordable. How much will your family spend each year on college?
What is your career goal?
Do you have an affordable safety?
What are your cost constraints, state of residency, and academic interests?
What other aspects of a college would make you interested in it? It looks like Scripps is your top choice; what about it do you like? If a small women’s college with convenient cross registration with other colleges is what you want, there are schools like Mount Holyoke, Smith, Barnard, and Bryn Mawr.
I’m from California.
Ideally I’d like to be a journalist. However I don’t really want to major in journalism since I want to keep my options open, so I’m interested in poly sci, sociology, psych, maybe English. I would definitely need financial aid of some kind, I was gifted a sizable college fund but it won’t cover everything.
I like Scripps because of its focus on women’s leaderships, and the amazing consortium and study abroad opportunities. Also beautiful campus and weather, and it has excellent need-based financial aid. I am more drawn to smaller schools, but I am worried about getting bored at a small school after 4 years so I’m still exploring my options.
when did you take the SAT? Can you study a LOT this summer and take it again in Oct?
Getting your math score over 720 will help boost your application into the “qualified” pile at more colleges.
If you’re thinking you’ll get bored at the same school for 4 years, and you don’t mind either coast, look into William & Mary, in Virginia. They have a joint degree program with St. Andrews (in Scotland). You spend your 1st and 4th year in Williamsburg, and your 2nd and 3rd year at St. Andrews. Majors offered thru that program are: Economics, English, History and International Relations.
