Help Me Find Matches?

Can somebody please help me find some match schools?

/Stats/
Public High School in MA
Rank: at least top 20%
GPA: 3.3ish UW.
SAT: 1970 (CR: 640, M: 630, W: 700)
Courses: So far the most rigorous. Next year will be AP Calc, AP Eng, AP Gov, AP Java, AP Physics, AP Spanish.
ECs: To put it briefly, tons of soccer(multiple teams), indoor and outdoor track, student rep. to the school committee, String Bass(9yrs), plus tons of clubs.

I’m looking for a small/medium size school with a good name. I’m looking at rural environments but the city is fine. Maybe majoring in Government? Economics? I’m not sure yet so I’d like a school that’s flexible for freshmen.

Reaches: Bowdoin, Colby, Bates, BC, Hamilton
Matches: ?
Safety: any MA state school.

union, lafayette, wheaton (ma), skidmore

Judging from the colleges you’ve written down, I’m guessing that you want to stay within the northeast/mid-atlantic, so the following suggestions are only located within that area (and Ohio and Virginia)…

SEMI-REACH: Brandeis University (MA), Bucknell University ¶, Hampshire College (MA), Kenyon College (OH), University of Rochester (NY),

GOOD FIT: American University (DC), Bennington College (VT), Clark University (MA), College of the Atlantic (ME), Denison University (OH), Franklin & Marshall College ¶, Grove City College ¶, Lafayette College ¶, Sarah Lawrence College (NY), Skidmore College (NY), Union College (NY), University of Richmond (VA), Villanova University ¶, Wheaton College (MA)

LIKELY: Allegheny College ¶, Antioch College (OH), Drew University (NJ), Fairfield University (CT), Fordham University (NY), Juniata College ¶, Loyola College in Maryland (MD), Muhlenburg College ¶, Providence College (RI), Randolph College (VA), St. Lawrence University (NY), Stonehill College (MA), Wagner College (NY), Xavier University (OH)

Thanks to you both! I’ll have to spend some time looking at these colleges ;)

Is BU too large for what you want?

Yeah, I think BU is a bit too large. I’ve heard that some freshmen classes can get up to 300 students. But I still haven’t toured there, so who knows.

Very few classes get that large. Mostly Intro classes really. I cant find the link, but I think it’s fewer than 10% that get that high.

What’s AP Java?

Java is a language for writing programs, etc., it’s an advanced (I think?) Computer Science class.

You should also look at Gettysburg College.

Oh I know what Java is, but I didn’t know they offered an AP class specifically in Java. Why not C++? Aren’t C++ and Visual Basic more useful?

Yeah, I wondered that, too, honestly. 'Cause when I had the AP tests this year I didn’t see Java on the list. I guess there’s two Computer Science exams, and one just covers Java? So that class is really AP Computer Science.
