RD applicant from india, plz tell me shud i apply at all?

Stats:

SAT 1 : 1110 (670 M, 440 CR)
SAT 2: Physics: 730, maths 1 610 : maths 2: 630.

ECs.
1.) 5 years of hardcore robotics.
2.) Youngest to win a “commonwealth youth conference”, 38 countries participated.
3.) 4 year research on “string theory”, i will send the thesis to the univ.

Very few applicants with an SAT score that low are accepted. I would not recommend applying unless you took the December 2nd SAT and expect to get a 1300+.

dude its fine. he’s from india. i doubt they would use the same standards that they would for US citizens.
didnt u take like the tofeol or something?

why would u not reccommend him to apply? even if its a reach he should still apply. and personally i dont think its a reach. take the tofeol. they look at that for international students

Do you have a TOEFL score to submit? What your post idicates is that you did poorly on the CR portion of the SAT, an indication not of lack of ability but of struggling with English. Though UIUC will be a reach, you could still have a shot if you have and submit a decent TOEFL score.

How is it that you do research on string theory and yet got a 670 on the math section? I don’t know, just curious.
Anyway, try to retake your SAT and do you have more ECs?
You were on the Princeton forum saying you were disappointed about getting rejected…lol…right now, I’ll be brutally honest, but even U of I is a BIG REACH for you.
