HELP ME KILL NYU FROM THE INSIDE... by chancing me

<p>I hate everything about NYU. The absurd amount of students who want to go there, how everyone keeps posting about it… and most of all how I love their program and am dying to get in. So, if you cant beat them join them right? err, should i say, “chance them”?</p>

<p>I am applying Stern ED 1 for International Business and Chinese. I am a white female from Texas. My school is a good school for the area, a public one, but I am concerned because I know a lot of people who go to NYU come from prestigious schools in NJ and NY that have Nivedia (or what are they called? sorry) accounts. We don’t… obviously. Any ideas on how that could affect my application? </p>

ACT: 32 Combined (31 English, 33 Math, 30 Science, 33 Reading, 9 Writing)
RANK: 23/522 (Top 4% of Class)
AP’s:

(I dont plan on submitting the Euro since it was so low, but if i don’t, would they dislike my lack of honesty? lol)</p>

<p>I am taking 5/6 more AP’s my senior year- (my school limits the ones you can take up until that point) AP Physics C, AP Calc BC, AP Psych, AP English Lit, AP Gov, AP Econ. </p>

<p>Unfortunately, my school cut its Chinese program due to budget cuts, but I am very interested in Chinese. I wish that could come across more in my application. </p>

<p>Any ideas if I am wasting my ED on a school that I can’t get into? I am also VERY interested in George Washington, and I think I have a better shot there. But is ED2 ok for GW if im rejected from NYU? Or should I save myself the waiting and just apply there first?

You also need to submit all APs or none, so your decision is made.
Your ACT score is average among their applicants so it seems alright.
I personally think you’ve got a good chance from what I see.

<p>Thanks! And I actually think that its name is Naviance. Whoops. Some schools work with it online- it maps the amount of kids that apply to a school, how many are accepted, and what their scores are. Typically only schools that have a large number of students applying to prestigious schools work with them. I think they are probably more of a study tool for the students than anything.</p>
