ACT: 31 single sitting, 32 w/ 33 writing super scored. (34 English, 29 Math, 36 Reading, 28 Science)
Sat II: Taking them in January, doing History and Lit, my practice tests say 750+ for both
GPA: 3.8 uw, 4.45 w (Used to be higher, but will explain later)
IB HL: Literature, Biology, History
IB SL: Chemistry, Math Studies (5), Spanish
Rank: 8% out of 460 students
Senior Course Load: IB Chem, IB Calculus, IB Senior Literature, IB Biology II, IB History II, IB Spanish 5, PLTW Principles of Biomedical Sciences, Theory of Knowledge, AP Computer Science
Yep, I’m taking nine classes first semester. Getting A’s and A+'s in all of them.
Awards: Finance Comp Winners(1st), Ranked in State. Scholastic Silver key… VOD Third Place local.
Extra Curricular Activities:
Finance Team/Club Leader: We got first for the first time ever in the region of the state. Ever. Thirteen years of getting squashed, and our amazing team managed to work it out.
Model UN Student Head: Assisted in organizing and reviving the schools model UN, am in charge of making the list of req’s for individuals to join, and have the job of making sure students are on task. In this case, I have taken the form of a teacher.
Math Club: Just a fun club my friends and I made. No head spot.
Key Club: Doing it for four years, have been an active member. Not allowed to have a post, because…
NHS: I am the President of NHS! I am the leader of the youth in my school, the proud role model that others wish to replicate…and you know, talk to and stuff.
Arabic Tutor: I teach people Arabic at the local library for the past three years and running. This is a free class that anyone can walk into. Usually 12 members show up every time for lessons.
Hospital Volunteen: I have volunteered at the hospital for the past 5 years. I am very interested in the medical field, and in helping other people. I average 3 hours a week in the school year, 8 hours in the summer.
Poetry(!!!): I am a relatively good poet, I have been writing for many years, and I do spoken word at various places. I am going to compete on the 16th of December to see if I can go to state, and potentially nationals for it.
Essays: I am a very, very good essayist and writer. That 33 in writing was from the horrible writing section last year, where the ACT tried to change it. Heard private school kids floundered on it. Anyways, my essays are very good, already got accepted to my back up school.
Teacher Recommendations: My counselor is an amazing person, and she wrote me an amazing rec. Was an English Teacher, and knows a lot about me. My other two are from my Finance Club Supervisor, who I have known and appreciated for four years, and my English Teacher, who may very well be the coolest teacher in school.
Extra Recommendation: I have one from my first friend, who has known me since 4th grade. I hold a very high respect for him, and even though I have not seen the recommendation, I know that he wrote what he felt about me.

My GPA is low because one of my parents went over seas at a very, very bad time. The town in her home country went under heavy fire just a day after she left. So my grades went down a lot during that semester due to that unparalleled stress. My counselor talked about this in her letter. I would be in the top 1% or 2% if it weren’t for that. My grandmother died due to the most sad, useless medical care under my mothers watch.
I am just curious as to what my chances could possibly be. I am only doing this not because I believe I have an amazing chance, but the opposite. I know I have a chance at any of these schools, holistic judgement and all, but what do you think?
