Now coming to SATs

I havent given it yet. BUT I have an average score of 2250 on around 5 Practice tests.

Cant comment about SAT II. Though I gave a Phy practice test full 800.

Now coming to my major. Well that would be Aerospace/Mechanical Engg. Now that you have seen my stats and ECs.

As of now I have the following on my list:

1.Brown
2.Northwestern
3.Dartmouth
4.JHU
5.MIT
6.Stanford
etc etc etc etc

Can you people please suggest which schools are good for me?! :D

Cheers!!!

The first thing that comes to mind is that you have only listed some of the most highly selective, high-prestige institutions out there. If this is what you really want, fine. But as I have said in other strings, a school’s overall prestige may be important in some professions, but not really so much in engineering. By limiting your list this way, you can limit your options, are facing the probability of high cost, and maybe risking rejection everywhere.

There are literally HUNDREDS of excellent engineering programs to add to your list. Some public alternatives are:

Georgia Tech
Many Big 10 schools: Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Illinois, Penn State, Wisconsin, Purdue
Maryland
Clemson
NC State
Va Tech
Florida
Texas
Texas A&M
Iowa State
Several UCs
SUNY Buffalo

and on, and on, and on.

The main problem is funding man. I need funding! I cant go on to study in US without aid. I just stated those because they were on the top of my list. I have WPI and a few others.

The competition as an Indian international needing money is fierce. There are very few spaces for such candidates at top schools. And half of your schools are not need blind for internationals.

You will need to apply to several schools where your stats are at the top to stand a good chance of getting in with money. I can give you some ideas if you tell us how much you can afford.

Well almost full tuition ride :S

Brown ain’t exactly an engineering powerhouse…

so can anyone suggest colleges on the basis of my stats and need?!

You might want to add CalTech, Princeton, and Cornell (all excellent in engineering and business recruiting).

my stats upto the mark?
