Help me with my college choices

Hi guys,
I am a South-east Asian, educated in Singapore.
I had done A levels:
H2 Chemistry C
H2 Economics C
H2 Maths B
H1 Physics D

My SAT is 1810, planning to take another in December
CR 560 M 680 W 570

My current colleges:
UCR, LMU :High Reach
USanFrancisco, SOKA uni of America, Woodbury University, University of the Pacific :Match
Concordia Irvine, CSU LB, CSU Fullerton :Safety

What do you think of my choices? My intended major is economics.
Could you suggest some colleges in California that are suitable for me?

UCLA is a reach. You could potentially apply there.

What about Pepperdine? You should look at that school. I hear that it’s good but idk

Santa Clara might work for you. [Undergraduate Admission - Welcome to Undergraduate Admission](Undergraduate - Admission - Santa Clara University) Here’s their Common Data Set - you need to look at Section C (for this and all your other potential schools): [Common Data Set](http://www.scu.edu/ir/ir/cds/cds2010_11.cfm)

I am assuming you are full pay, correct?

Don’t let the fact that it’s Catholic put you off, by the way. There are many (if not mostly) non-Catholics enrolled.

I kinda always thought UCLA, Pepperdine, and Santa Clara are out of my reach, at least that’s what my senior told me. As an international student with no GPA, and kinda low standardized exam scores, do I stand a chance at Santa Clara?
I believe I have some good ECAs though.
Soccer team member, chinese calligraphy member, certificate in Chinese Language Intermediate level, various local and oversea community services, studied and did community service as a novice Buddhist monk in India, etc…

I am full pay, not needing financial aids. Have more than enough savings for college. :D

Thanks for the tip about checking Section C, it’s really helpful.

How can there be no GPA if there are letter grades assigned? Or is it just the the A levels that have grades? I’m asking because those grades look low, even relative to your SAT score…
Use the SuperMatch college search engine, put it your SAT, major, California - make sure these are all “must-have” and you will see a ranked list of matches. It might not be accurate however without the GPA in there, if colleges will look at your transcript and think it is lower than it should be for your GPA?

There are letter grades but I don’t think it can be accurately converted to GPA though.
Coz I usually get ‘D’ grades in internal exams but in terms of percentile, I am around 60%tile so can be consider top 40% in my whole cohort of 653 students. Usually around 12 students can only achieve an A grade in the school for certain subjects.
I tried converting using a website but i get a GPA of 2??? I don’t think my GPA would be that low coz I am slightly above average at school.
Even though the colleges see my low grades, they would also look at my percentile, right? It’s just that Singapore schools are too stingy with grades.

For CSUs, see CSUMentor .

How likely will I be able to get into Menlo College or SOKA uni of america?
