Help me with my college decision?

Originally I narrowed down my list of schools to 5: Notre Dame, Georgetown, University of British Columbia, UPenn, and the University of Wyoming.

Now, I think it’s down to Penn, UBC, and UWyo.

I plan on majoring in history or political science while fulfilling med school pre-reqs.

I would almost be making money going to UWyo and enrolling in the honors program there, UBC would cost me around $30k-$35k a year, and UPenn would cost ~$50k a year, some of which would be coming out of personal student loans.

I would be happy at any of these schools, but I was wondering what collegeconfidential’s thoughts were on whether or not it is worth the high cost to attend a more prestigious university (UBC or Penn) over going to a state school’s honor program for free (UWyo).

If you were in my shoes, what would you do?

There’s a ton of threads on this if you search, and the general consensus is that the state option makes much more sense especially if you’re planning on a med program.
