Help Me with My College List (4.0 UW and 2290 SAT)

Hey guys, I need some help forming my college list. I plan on studying Mechanical Enginnering or Computer Science. I am from California looking for a school in an urban or suburban area. I would like for my college to have good school spirit and enthusiasm for sports. My parents income is 93K, and they can afford to help about 5k a year (I will have two other siblings in college). I am a white male.

Stats:
GPA: 4.48 (4.0 UW)
SAT: 2290 (800M, 700 R, 790 W)
SATII: 800 ML2, 800 BioE, 750 USH
Class Rank: 1/650

List so far:
UCB
UCLA
UCI
UCSD
USC
Cal Poly SLO
SDSU
Harvey Mudd
Stanford
MIT
Princetown
Cornell

Rice
Johns Hopkins
UM - Ann Arbor
Georgia Tech
UW

What is your EFC? Have you run the Net Price calculators on these schools?, since $5,000/year will not help much unless you get significant merit aid at these schools.

There are however great opportunities for merit scholarships with your strong profile–merit scholarships that could give you a lower cost than even in-state tuition in CA.

My EFC is around 5k according to the College Board. I have ran the NPCs at most of these schools and they expect me to pay 5-8k per year.

NPCs are not exact. If that’s what you’re getting from your list and you’re happy with all of them. think you’re done.

If you are not fully decided on your major, investigate how hard it will be to change major to ME and CS at each school.

This is particularly important for the schools that you consider your safeties.

It seems unlikely that GT and UW will be that inexpensive for an out of state student.

How was your PSAT selection index?

Maybe U Mississippi or U Alabama (for scholarships, school spirit, and sports) would work if you get a loan, a pell grant, and work study.
