Help me with this CR Question?

The passage:

Q. The author would most likeley characterize the views of the “thinkers” referred to in line 28 as

inconclusive

erroneous

I picked inconclusive because I thought the “thinkers” were not seeing the whole picture, and this not being conclusive.
Can anyone explain why it’s erroneous?

The passage that is the basis of the question is “What bothers me about this point of view is that it implies that human beings, in some deep sense, are not part of nature. “Nature,” to [line 28] many environmental thinkers, is what happens when there are no people around. As soon as we show up and start building towns and cities, “nature” stops and something infinitely less worthwhile starts.”

The voice of the author is basic to CR. He doesn’t say that the view of environmental thinkers is inconclusive. That would mean that with “more” study the environmental thinkers may come up with a more complex view that takes the presence of people into account. He doesn’t say that they are naive and that with guidance they will revise their view. He states that their view “bothers him” (implying that it’s wrong). “The environmental thinkers consciously view the presence of people as a blight to nature.” He strongly disagrees with this view – it’s erroneous.

Thanks!! :)
