Help me with this decision conflict

I know that Princeton is weird in the way that they will not let you do early action at other schools under early decision at princeton. The question i have is whether or not they will let you do an INTERIM decision process, like at rice, which is non-binding and the notifications are feb 10. I don’t want to e-mail princeton on this because they will never answer me with all they’re other mail right now and i don’t want to e-mail rice because i don’t want them to know that i’m ED at princeton.

call princeton or rice…i promise you they will not trace your call or ask you for your name

What about e-mailing princeton? think they’ll match my e-mail to my application?

use a second email address?

Also i doubt they’d go to that much trouble to match a person with an email address

too late. i did it anyway.

new email account from an internet cafe. u’ll be fine.

i guess an interim process for an application will not violate the early decision agreement. so says the MIT website.

well isn’t MIT early ACTION?? thats different from ED

what happens if you truly didnt know that
Pton is single choice ED and already applied to other
EA school?.
Are they gonna find out that you applied to other EA?
If so, through what means are they gonna find out?
social security number?.
I mean… one of ma frenz applied to Pton and some EAs
truly not knowing that it’s not allowed…
he’s kinda confused now about what he has to do…
he is int’l so he doesnt have a ssn… what should he do?

He needs to contact those EA’s and ask them to move his application from the Early pool to the Regular pool.

If Princeton finds out about this (which is certainly possible), they can blacklist your friend.

they find out. blacklist for sure. your friend needs to act immediately.

Princeton does not have ID like Rice.

I am pretty sure you could apply Interim to Rice while applying to Pton Early. I remember talking to a Rice rep and he said Rice created Interim just to cater to the students that apply to SCEA or SCED schools.

When I e-mailed Princeton, I travelled to Singapore (it’s only a 30 minute flight for me), used an internet proxy service from an internet cafe and created a new e-mail account. I suggest that you do the same, it makes it more difficult to track you if you are asking a “stupid” question.

I misunderstood your question. You can do ID at Rice. You just have to withdraw if you are admitted to P. I know several kids who did that.

my question is how could someone not know that princeton was single choice, they make you sign a statement agreeing to those terms…

yeah thats true…They explicitly said you cannot apply to any other school under ED or EA. but am not sure about Interim and EA II.

oh interim and ea ii are allowed but i dont know how someone could accidently apply ea i at the same time. Also, im surprised that the school’s counselors would let that happen. At our school if you send an app to these single choice type places the school itself wont send your transcript and counselor recs to other schools during the early round.

Alright, i emailed pton and for the record, you CAN do rice interim and princeton ED.
