<p>Hi there. I’m going back to school for a master’s in international relations/studies. I really want to study human rights and humanitarian assistance, which is why Denver and NYU are attractive to me. I know that the Elliott school is ranked higher, but wanted to see if anyone had any advice for me. I currently live in the DC area, love DC, love NY, and have never been to Denver. <p>Elliott and Denver are roughly comparable in terms of quality and exit opportunities. I would eliminate NYU, as it’s not nearly as well-established in that field as the other two. </p>
<p>If you already live in DC, you might consider Elliott (assuming schools are comparable, cost-wise), if for no other reason, because you wouldn’t have to incur the cost of moving, and it would be helpful to be close to DC job/internship opportunities.</p>

<p>Go where the fit is the best. Rankings in grad school don’t mean that much if the fit isnt’t there.</p>
<p>Don’t read too much in to rankings - they are all good schools. Where are you going to be happiest? Which program best fits your interests? </p>
<p>DC and NY are great, but it might be worth a visit to Denver. It is really an up and coming city, plus if you like the outdoors Colorado is one of the best places in the country for skiing, rafting, mountain biking, hiking and rock climbing.</p>
