I’ve been admitted to OSU and GWU,master of accounting. I’ve no idea which one to choose. The accounting program in OSU is good, which ranks 10th in the states, but the program is only 9 months. While GWU’s accounting However,GWU’s location is good and the program lasts 2 years. Considering about the financial crisis,I think the location and the length of the program are important. So now I’m really confused. I don’t know which one should I choose. Please help!!! Thanks a million!!!

Since the school is irrelvant, take the cheaper alternative, which probably is OSU. In addition, OSU has a very strong, well-known program.

Also, no accredited accounting program is 9 months. The State societies of CPA requre at least 120 credits to take the CPA and many states even require 150 credits. This isn’t possible in nine months unless you come in with a crap load of AP credits.

In addition, certain courses are normally required to sit for the exam such as a year of intro to accounting, a year of intermediate accounting, some cost accounting, some tax and auditing and maybe even advanced accounting. Many of these courses require as a prerequisite that you finish other accounting courses, which makes it untenable to finish the whole major in 9 months.
