Help on course load!

Hey everyone!

I was wondering if it was a problem that I am not currently taking English at my school. My school operates on a trimester system and only 11 credits (one credit per term) are required for English. Thus, I decided to take Economics spring term instead of an English. Unfortunately, Econ did not fit in my schedule and I didn’t bother to sign up for an English elective.

I will graduate with a high honors diploma and such, so this lack of an English course will not affect me in terms of graduating from high school. However, I am worried that UPenn will not like how I only took English for two thirds of the year. I have discussed this with my college counselor, and he said for me to just not bring up the situation to UPenn, as it may cause even more problems.

Do you think that this will cause a problem with UPenn? I direct this question to both current UPenn students, as well as incoming students.

Thanks in advance for any help people can offer!

i dont know why this would cause problems if u talked to UPenn. It’s not like they’re gonna remember anything about u in 10 months. It’s always better to get the answers directly from the source.

Why would Penn care? You are meeting the graduation requirements of your high school. You have been accepted to Penn and thus it is on you how much English you take. Many students enter Penn with varying course preparation…I don’t see a problem.
