Help on my Cornell Essay!

Before writing my Cornell essay, I read my friend’s essay for Harvard (hes in his late 20s) that he wrote about 10 years ago. I didn’t copy his essay, but I did use a similar introduction with similar phrases. Does Cornell have a plagiarism checker? Will they know about this?

I’m sure they have a plagiarism checker, given how accessible technology is these days.

Nobody here works for Cornell admissions so nobody can give you the answer with 100% certainty, but I’d work off the assumption that they do have one.
