Could someone please tell me one more time how to insert smilies and how to highlight a quotation? I promise I’ll write it down this time.

A smiley is done as follows, except remove the spaces:

: ) will make ![]()
; ) will make ;)

to put a quote in a box, type the following, except remove the spaces again:
[ quote ]This is a quote thing[ /quote ] becomes
And to be truly amazing, you could say:
[ quote=mootmom ]You are hecka good with quotes![ /quote ] which would turn into

Anything else?

Let’s see if it works :)

Many, many thanks Mootmoom! :)

[ b]Hello** gets you Hello

[ i]Hello* get you Hello

[ b][ i]Hello*** gets you Hello

[ color=red]Hello gets you Hello

and finally,

[ size=+2]Hello gets you Hello

(don’t forget to remove the spaces)

What about that really big smiley man?

You don’t need to write this down or memorize it, just scroll down to the bottom under your “quick reply” box, and click on the “go advanced” button, and then on that page scroll down and click on “vb code on” or “smilies” and start having fun!!

cheers, can you link to a post with the “really big smiley man” icon in it? I experimented and looked around and couldn’t figure out what you meant. But I’d love to know. :D

Thanks again for everyone’s advice.

Next question: How do you save your private messages? Want to keep the mailbox empty but also want to keep in and out messages where I can access them.

One way could be to open a Word Document, either on your desktop, or your Documents Folder, and copy and paste the useful PMs into that.

Just trying the suggestions out.
