“What?? No way!! Only 46-million?? No wonder Michigan’s Mechanical Engineering program is in decline, dropping ranking from #2 to now #5 in the nation.”

The U-M ME is consistently ranked among the top five mechanical engineering programs nationwide by the US News and World Report. In the recent National Research Council (NRC) assessment of U.S. PhD programs, U-M ME earned exceptional marks, leading to an overall #2 ranking among large institutions by the website PhDs.org, using their default weightings on the NRC data:

It is at #4 Sparkeye for undergrad. Once again, WAY WAY higher ranked than tOSU. You see Sparkeye, Michigan is near the top of the food chain for a myriad of disciplines. There isn’t really much room for it go up in most of it’s offerings. TOSU however, has tons of room for improvement. Good for them. It’s nice to see a middling B1G school trying so hard to compete with the big boys. Btw, the 46 million dollar project is ONLY an addition to a much larger building.
