Here’s a story about UofSC student who just won a Rhodes scholar - homeschooled and autistic.

So you never know. One smart small group leader told me one time that each decision is just a stepping stone to get across river. There’s no one way and you don’t do it all at once. If you try one thing and it doesn’t work for you and your family, then try something else. It’s not a failure, just a change in the way you get across the river!

Homeschooling sounds like an option, but I would worry about you getting burned out, too. If you go that route, be sure and find activities your son can do without you, with other adults and/or children. You will need some breaks! Maybe some super physical activities that would also tire him out? Swimming?

I also like the idea of you finding some alternative school options that would let your son move around more. Waldorf? I don’t remember where you live.

And the choice you make now isn’t the choice for life. In a year or two or three he will be very different and you can rethink your schooling options.
