HELP! Parents won't pay for SAT score reporting

I dunno if this is the right place to post, sorry.
But yesterday my parents told me that I was only allowed to apply to two universities. Now I’m an international student, and my parents have had 0 involvement in the entire application process, except payment.
Anyway, I have emailed all my universities and come up with alternative Financial aid application processes which won’t cost anything for most of them.

is there any way I could do something similar for score reports? Williams College lets me send screenshots instead of the official report.

thanks in advance

You should email each college. However, the problem is that most admissions offices are now on break.

No way I can think of, other than what you already did for Williams. If they won’t pay for,you to send scores, why would they pay for you to attend school in the US? Score reporting isn’t that expensive. Did you exceed their limit of two colleges?

@Lindagaf all of the universities I’m applying to give good aid. The cost for score reporting isn’t really important to my parents, they just don’t want me to apply to more colleges. And no, I haven’t exceeded.

@yonceonhismouth I uploaded my test scores for Princeton SCEA on the 2nd of November. (Deferred obviously) Is it possible for me to wait for them to reply?

Ask our guidance counselor to list those scores on your midyear report. Many colleges consider those official.

@MYOS1634 okay, I’ll try that. Thanks!

Also, for internationals who need financial aid, applying to 12-15 universities is typical.

MYOS1634 is right. US schools give less aid to international students, and most schools are need-aware, therefore lowering your chances of admission as well as your chances of receiving aid. You don’t qualify for federal aid obviously, so you will have to rely on merit aid; if you need a lot of aid or (god forbid) a full ride, you will need to apply to A BUNCH of schools, (meaning at least ten schools), mostly schools way below your range. I really strongly suggest you apply to more than two schools.

@MYOS1634 My list has a lot of universities. The problem is that my parents won’t let me apply to more than two, because they want me to stay in my home country. I don’t really get them, but it is what it is

If your parents want you to stay in your home country, then how do you expect to pay for school in the US? The likelihood of you getting enough aid to attend a US school without significant financial support from your parents
is close to zero.

Well, did they authorize your applying to these two?
If not, why don’t you apply to more (in for a penny, in for a pound)?
If they did, why these two - do they expect you to be turned down?
If they won’t let you go to the US, how do you expect to convince them once you’re admitted?

@MaelstromMonkey Poorly worded, sorry. They’d rather I stayed. If I get in, they’ll let me go. Anyway, I emailed all of them asking if I could do what @MYOS1634 suggested.
